1. If someone were writing a story about Juliana Stone what would your blurb say?
In a world on the brink of chaos, one mother stands alone against a hoard of laundry, piles of dust bunnies, several WIP’s and 56 hours that need to be whittled down to 12
2. Can you tell us a little about your newest release His Darkest Salvation that isn't in the blurb?
His Darkest Salvation takes place across the continent. From Washington, to Mexico, up north to Canada and finishes with a bang in Sin City, Las Vegas! All the Castille boys are present and accounted for as well as the very sexy Declan O’Hara. We do get closure on the 3 book story ARC, but new questions arise and lead in nicely to my new series that kicks off with Declan’s book, Wicked Road to Hell.
3. What was your inspiration behind the creation of His Darkest Salvation ?
Salvation is the third book in the Jaguar Warriors trilogy. My inspiration for the entire series was my love for the Aztec culture and their worship of these amazing big cats. Family was also an inspiration to me and you can see it here…Julian sacrificed a lot to help out his brothers.
4. What was your favorite scene to write in His Darkest Salvation?
There were many from the first time Julian and Jaden were thrown together and vulnerable, to when Declan and Julian were reunited with their family and old friends. But I was anticipating the big showdown at the end of the novel the most. I knew all the characters I’d grown to love would be there…and that maybe something bad was going to happen to one of them. It was intense and I enjoyed every minute of it!
5. Are there any other genres you want to tackle?
Sure! I currently have a contemporary romance out on sub and I had a blast writing it. Very different from the paranormal stuff but fun all the same. I’d also love to one day publish something my kids and their friends can read…but time is my enemy these days so as of the moment it’s not in the works!
6. If you could trade places with one of your characters, would you want to and why?
If I could trade places with anyone, I think it would be with Ana. She’s intrigued me from the first book. She’s a vampire and has seen and done a lot but there’s a lot of stuff my readers don’t know…yet! A lot will be revealed in the future.
7. What accent is sure to make you swoon?
Australian. Hands down.
8. What was the most challenging thing you’ve done in the name of research that might have been out of your comfort zone?
I’ve been lucky. So far nothing. My research has basically been limited to a lot of surfing the net for information. In fact, some of it has been awesome…I visited Belize which is where a large part of the action in His Darkest Hunger took place and all of His Darkest Embrace was also in set in Belize! I think I’m planning a trip to Salem as I’ve a witch in my book due at the end of the year! I mean, really, research is so important.
9. Please share with us something that readers would be surprised to learn about you.
Hmmm. I’m afraid of spiders for one. I can say that I stood beside Jon Bon Jovi once at a club in Toronto and when I realized who it was I freaked out…does that count?
10. How can the readers stay in touch with you online?
I have a contact page on my website www.julianastone.com . Readers can sign up for my newsletter there or email me at Juliana@juilanastone.com. I also have a facebook page http://www.facebook.com/JulianaStone and am on twitter way too much! http://twitter.com/#!/Juliana_Stone
11. If you could ask readers any one question, what would it be?
I think I’d ask them what is it about paranormal romance that they enjoy so much? And do they see it waning anytime soon?
After six months in hell, Julian Castille has returned to the world a changed man. No longer the longer the calm, powerful CEO, but a shifter fully embraced by the blood of his clan. Julian has one goal: find the key to the portal that stands between the human realm and unprecedented darkness-and win back the pieces of his soul. The last thing he needs is a distraction like the beautiful, enigmatic Jaden DaCosta.
Three years ago, a forbidden night of passion left Jaden forever altered: mated to Julian Castille--bound to a man who despises her. But the temptation to trust this darker, more savage-and more captivating-Julian is overwhelming. And as they fight for their immortal souls, their insatiable desire for each other may prove their fatal undoing…

I definitely cannot see paranormal romance waning anytime soon. Hell, it had better not :) I think it is just a staple like horror and science fiction. I love paranormal because of the diversity in characters and their colorful natures. No two books are the same.

I love the possibilities for life and love in the paranormal world. Loved ones can be undead, immortal, resurrected, reincarnated...everything. Hero and heroines can be mythical, shape-shifters, witches...everything. Even better I love the world-building in which everything comes together. Paranormal books are truly escape from reality stories to me. I don't see the paranormals waning anytime soon and for me there was always be a time to read it.

July 25, 2011 1:31 PMI love that you have all your previous characters pop in for the grand finale.
And as for paranormal romances, I've been a huge fan now for over 15 years. Love the creative world building, and the endless possibilities for character traits and romantic connections.
Even after endless years of reading, I find that I can still be surprised, and I love that.

July 25, 2011 2:02 PMI hope it doesn't go away anytime soon. I really don't see it happening. It seems like more and more people are loving this genre as much as I have. I have been reading paranormals for as long as I can remember. There just something about it that I've always gravitated to. I think it's because it's forbidden and a completely different world from my own. The heroes are more sexy and powerful, willing to do anything for the ones they love.

I like the huge diversity of Paranormal romance and because of that I don't see it waning. There are probably still so many ideas out there that need to be written that we will have a lot more books to read. :)

I love paranormals because each author can create the world they want to. The characters are all different and the stories can contain anything that the author can imagine. I do not see interest in paranormals waning at all.

I love parnormal romance because the heroines are always tough (either physically or emotionally) and capable and the men are usually alpha type men that are devoted to their partners - I like the different types of characters too. I really don't see the interest in paranormal romance going away any time soon, it might go up and down as far as sales but I think there will always be an interest.

July 25, 2011 8:26 PMI blame all those fairytales I read as a child for enjoying PNR (especially since, unlike fairytale heroines, PNR heroines can fight for themselves). Paranormal stories precedes books so I don't think it's going to go away anytime soon.

I do not see paranormal romance as an overall genre waning in the near future. With so many different sub-genres, it will survive quite nicely. It is possible that some of the sub genres may wane. I enjoy reading paranormal romances, but not a steady diet - I need a balance of other genres.
July 25, 2011 9:35 PMI always enjoy paranorman romances because you never know what can happen. The possibilities are endless. And I do not see interest waning any time soon.

I dont see it ending anytime soon. What I like the most is that it allows a easy escape for a little while from RL problems. You get to experience a world similar to ours in many ways but where magic and things we only dream about really exist.

The possibilities, I think, is what I like best about paranormal romance. Anything could happen in that place the author created. But in the regular world, outside of books, there is always limiations to what can be done.
July 26, 2011 5:23 AMI don't know if I see it waning anytime soon but there is a big possibility of it happening. For a while there when all those new vampire movies and tv shows just seemed to be coming out non-stop added on with the sudden increase in Paranormal Romance sales it did seem like too much too fast, if that makes sense. So there's a good chance that in another year or so it will go back to being one of those "I was country when country wasn't cool" type of deals.

What do I love about paranormal romance? Everything! Its unpredictable, the author has her own set of rules for her characters so anything can happen, a new element of danger, storylines that go beyond the norm. The possibilities are endless. Will it wane? I dont think so. Every genre has its ups and downs occasionally but an paranormal reader is one for life. I know I am. Congrats on your new release!

Of the paranormal romance I've read and enjoyed, I've liked the blend of the quieter intimate moments with the intense action. Sometimes it can feel tacked together, but when done right it is seamless.

I love to immerse myself in the different realities that come from writers mind. Our experiences shape what our dreams are, and when an author shares her perceptions by creating a new world and story, then inviting us to come play? I think that takes serious strength because they're really putting themselves out there. Reading is an escape, for most of us life isn't always fair, and Happy ending are not guaranteed. I like Happily ever afters so I think as long as the human condition isn't perfect we(the readers) will continue to love and support paranormal romance.
July 27, 2011 11:21 AMjargon47(at)gmail(dot)com
PNR isn't about to wan anytime soon. I believe that the more people that are introduced to the genre, the more popular the genre becomes. I know that it's my favorite genre to read. I'm not sure why. I just love it!
