Giveaway and Interview: THE SWEETEST THING by Jill Shalvis

Today I welcome author Jill Shalvis, here to celebrate her March 29th release from Hachette Books, and book two of A Luckey Harbor Novels, THE SWEETEST THING !
So please give Jill a warm welcome, enjoy the interview and don't forget to enter the contest!

If someone were writing a story about Jill Shalvis what would your blurb say?

A misplaced city girl living in the wild mountains, attempting to write and be a mom while resembling I Love Lucy …

What was your favorite scene to write in The Sweetest Thing?
Definitely when Tara sneaks onto Ford’s boat in the middle of the night in her pjs to steal his potato chips and he catches her …

If you could trade places with one of your characters, would you want to and who?
Tara. Because I want Ford for myself!

The house is on fire and you only have time to grab one book …… which do you take with you?
I’m going to cheat and say MY KINDLE, so I can take ALL my books with me. J

How can the readers stay in touch with you online?
http://jillshalvis.com/
http://jillshalvis.com/blog
http://www.facebook.com/JillShalvis
http://twitter.com/JillShalvis

If you could ask readers any one question, what would it be?
It’d be - who are your favorite authors and are you open to picking up one more? J

Two Men Are One Too Many . . .
Tara has a thousand good reasons not to return to the little coastal town of Lucky Harbor, Washington. Yet with her life doing a major crash-and-burn, anywhere away from her unfulfilled dreams and sexy ex-husband will do. As Tara helps her two sisters get their newly renovated inn up and running, she finally has a chance to get things under control and come up with a new plan for her life.
But a certain tanned, green-eyed sailor has his own ideas, such as keeping Tara hot, bothered . . . and in his bed. And when her ex wants Tara back, three is a crowd she can't control-especially when her deepest secret reappears out of the blue. Now Tara must confront her past and discover what she really wants. If she's lucky, she might just find that everything her heart desires is right here in Lucky Harbor.

Unfortunately, the giveaway is only for USA Resident and not for another countries.Well my sweetest thing that ever happened to me is when my Boss gave me a B'day cake just because she remember my B'day and we kind of celebrated it with all students in the classroom. We sang a Happy B'day song and cut the cake also took a picture.
That was the 1st time she congratulated me and celebrated it. I felt that she really cared her employee and wanted to make me happy because I really don't like B'day thing. It remind you of how old you are and of the achievement that you are failed to earn.

A few years ago when my husband sent me a dozen red long stem roses. Why because he is a truck driver who is gone alot and we live in MI but he was in TExas and he took the time to find the number for the local florist and order them. Then there is the fact that he's never done that before and we've been married 19 years. Pretty special for me.

One of the sweetest things to ever happen to me was when I was on bedrest due to bloodclots, my entire family would take turns visiting with me and made sure that I had plenty of books to read. Even my very young neices and nephew would come to see me and hang out with me to keep me from going crazy not being able to do anything.

The sweetest thing when I met my husband. Last night I was moaning because my spleen has a tendency to swell up and I couldn't comfortable. Today he insisted on getting the groceries by himself. He came back with the groceries and a deep foam topper for my side of the bed!

I have lots of sweet memory days with my twin boys, but one of my favorite's is the year that they took me out to a surprise Mother's Day brunch. It was just the three of us, and it was so much fun. I think this signaled their transformation from young men, to young adults. One of those special awww mama moments.

Okay, the sweetest thing that happened to me was just recently. After being just two months on my job...I feel and broke my ankle on my icy deck steps. My brand new department of 7 people took up a collection and gave me a check for $450 to help me and my family since I didn't have any time off accrued. Then the gave me a laptop to work from home so that I wouldn't lose my job!!! What a fantastic thing to do for such a new employee.

The sweetest thing to happen to me was when my first boyfriend (6th grade) first asked me if I wanted to be his girlfriend. I was always the ugly duckling in school, the quiet girl who didn't 'GET' boys but GOT 'A's', and he made me feel special. For the first time in my 'mature' life, someone who wasn't in my family made me feel like special-it was too cute. It actually happened on a feild trip to Medieval Time and once we got off the bus I told him that if he hurt me I would chop his testicles off (did I mention I was the shy, quiet, ass kicker?). We were 'together' for 2 year, but for the last year, I didn't even know we were still going out until he called me out of the blue and said "you're still my girlfriend, right?" LOL! Ahh, to be young and unaware!

Thanks for the contest! I'd love to win TAra's book! I have (and treasure) Maddie's book and can't wait to see what all that chemistry between Tara and Ford is about!

I have a lot of 'favorite' authors - Catherine Coulter, Mariah Stewart, Kay Hooper, Christine Feehan, CJ Lyons, and on and on .. I'm always open to reading a new genre and new author and your books have been added to my TBR list - the blurbs are great and have caught my eye. Thanks for the chance to win one of your books.

I've been fortunate to have a lot of sweet things happen to me. I think I would have to say that one of the sweetest was when my husband gave me a minature tea rose bush for my birthday one year. We planted it in front of the house and now I have lovely roses every year and it blooms several times throughout the year.

I would have to say it was when my daughter was in the ICU, it was my 10 year anniversary, and my husband still managed to do something for me. He played our wedding song at 3:00 which is when our wedding started. We danced in her room, while she was hooked up to all these machines to keep her alive. He bought me an anniversary ring too. It brought a little light to an otherwise terrible time in our lives! I bought him a bag of candy, not so sweet on my part. :)

He was the only guy in there and was such a good sport....because all the ladies just teased him about being there. I'll remember that day for the rest of my life!

Have a great weekend.... Lynn

About Me

My Photo
Brande
I am a working mom with an addiction to coffee, chocolate, and books.. I read an average 3 to 4 books a week to escape reality. I have setup this site to organize my own thoughts and help others when choosing what to read. Since I can be a dimwit at times I decided to keep a record of the books I read. This record turned into reviews so I would remember if I liked the book I forgot I had read. I am not particularily funny and my grammer sucks so please don’t expect much. Basically I don’t know jack about many things, but I do know what I like in a novel and what makes me want to spend my money on an author.
