HOT ROD by GA Hauser

I just finished HOT ROD by GA Hauser and I have to say I don't think I have read a book of hers so far that I have outright just loved! HOT ROD is no exception, it is simply gripping, additively sexy and downright brilliant.

The story of Rod Reynold's isn't a pretty one, actually it's downright horrible, ten years in prison for a crime he didn't commit. Oh he did kill a man, but it was in self defense and he was framed! But when push comes to shove he did spend 10 years being bars and that can scar any man's soul for a lifetime.
Now out and trying just to get through his days, he lives with his sister and the only job he can get is as a day labor worker. Pretty much a turn around from his life working for the FBI, the heartache you feel for Rod is immediate and the anger is strong. I felt so invested and involved and downright pissed off for him it took all I had not to skip to the end and find out who the heck set him up and why. Why would everyone in his department betray him that way and turn their backs?

Rod is gay, so being in prison was no special treat, especially when they found out that he was ex-FBI. Not to mention the guards thinking he killed one of their own. Being beaten up and rapes is a very real fear and reality for him every second of those ten years, so Rod had to make some hard decisions and play his cards right to stay alive and untouched. The favors he had to give have tarnished his soul, leaving him with nightmares still.

Although a patch of sunshine has broken through his dark life with the set up from his sister with a stunningly handsome doctor! Attraction between the two instant and hot as hell. But Rod is scared he will never be whole and while Foley has demons of his own he believes in Rod's innocents and isn't willing to let this attraction they have for each other stop there. There is something more, they both want it, but it is going to be one heck of an uphill battle to find their peace and happiness.

GA Hauser has written another fantastic love story full of high intensity drama, a story filled with heartache and passion. One that is so hot, sexy and sweet you won't be able to put it down until with such a deliciously entertaining plot and a cast of characters that will win your heart! Bravo!

Rod Reynolds lived and breathed his career as an FBI sniper and undercover agent. It was all he ever wanted in his life until…
An incident on the job landed him a twenty-year sentence for manslaughter in the San Quentin penitentiary. Rod did ten of his twenty year term and was released from prison to pick up the pieces of his life. While incarcerated Rod earned a reputation as ‘Hot Rod’, as he traded favors inside. Making allies was something nearly impossible for an ex-agent who worked the streets turning in drug dealers. But he did what he had to do to stay alive.
Dr. Foley Russell did his time in the Iraq War with the troops as a reservist, volunteering to be on the front line with a medic unit. Now, back in the States, Dr. Russell worked at Good Samaritan Hospital. He too, was trying to readjust to life as a civilian. The men meet when Rod’s sister, Serena, a nurse for the same hospital, intentionally brings the two men together.
Both men with nightmarish personal experiences, attempting to regain what they once had. Sanity and a normal life. Will the conflict behind them be too much for them to overcome? Or will Foley’s desire for ‘Hot’ Rod be the driving force in getting Rod back on his feet.
In the end it’s about betrayal and trust and whether it’s possible to let go of your fear and lay it all on the line. Again.

About Me

My Photo
Brande
I am a working mom with an addiction to coffee, chocolate, and books.. I read an average 3 to 4 books a week to escape reality. I have setup this site to organize my own thoughts and help others when choosing what to read. Since I can be a dimwit at times I decided to keep a record of the books I read. This record turned into reviews so I would remember if I liked the book I forgot I had read. I am not particularily funny and my grammer sucks so please don’t expect much. Basically I don’t know jack about many things, but I do know what I like in a novel and what makes me want to spend my money on an author.
