Review & Giveaway: WICKED INTENTIONS by Elizabeth Hoyt

WICKED INTENTIONS by Elizabeth Hoyt is Book 1, Maiden Lane Series which I found entertaining and mildly suspenseful. Although there were moments of high drama, passionate interludes rounded out by the suspense in a search for a killer. Not only that, but as you can imagine said killer will so just about anything, including murdering again to not be discovered.

There in lies the tie between Temperance and Lazarus. He is on the hunt in the seedy St.Giles and Temperance knows the dregs of St. Giles like the back of her hand. After all it is her home. She runs a orphanage of sorts with her brother Winter. A home for unwanted and needy children. Her main problem is that they need more funds to stay afloat, the idea of not having a safe heaven for the children is unthinkable. So she agrees with Lazarus' plan to guide him around St.Giles in hopes to find he lover's killer in favor he will take her to balls and functions of the Ton. She needs him to introduce her to someone who would be willing to sponsor her children's home.

Lazarus has a scared past, something has made him a bitter man who can't stand any emotional attachment or touch. That is until Temperance. Something about her brings out a real fire in Lazarus that neither one can deny.

Hot and steamy their relationship turns, but a killer is still out on the loose and they are getting close to finding out who it is. With these two highly interesting characters and a masterfully intriguing mystery this was a book that I has a hard time putting down. I can't wait until book #2 in the series.

MAN CONTROLLED BY HIS DESIRES
Infamous for his wild, sensual needs, Lazarus Huntington, Lord Caire, is searching for a savage killer in St. Giles, London's most notorious slum. Widowed Temperance Dews knows the area like the back of her hand—she cares for its children at the foundling home her family established. Now that home is at risk…
A WOMAN HAUNTED BY HER PAST
Caire makes a simple offer—in return for Temperance's help navigating the perilous alleys of St. Giles, he will introduce her to high society so that she can find a benefactor for the home. But Temperance may not be the innocent she seems, and what begins as a cold bargain soon falls prey to a passion neither can control—and may well destroy them both.

You always have just the right giveaways!

Since reading Malcolm Bosse' "Vast Memory of Love", I have become obsessed with dailt life in tne 18th century and up till now have read very few historicals. I was afraid historical romance would not be "real" enough. I would really love to read this book to disprove it to myself.

Thank you for the giveaway.

About Me

My Photo
Brande
I am a working mom with an addiction to coffee, chocolate, and books.. I read an average 3 to 4 books a week to escape reality. I have setup this site to organize my own thoughts and help others when choosing what to read. Since I can be a dimwit at times I decided to keep a record of the books I read. This record turned into reviews so I would remember if I liked the book I forgot I had read. I am not particularily funny and my grammer sucks so please don’t expect much. Basically I don’t know jack about many things, but I do know what I like in a novel and what makes me want to spend my money on an author.
