IN HIS ARMS by Tina Donahue

IN HIS ARMS by Tina Donahue, which comes out Sept 03 from Ellora's Cave starts out with a young teen named Lori who is head over heels for the older and seriously hot boy next door. But just as he very harshly pokes fun at her being a “little girl” and brushes her off like a pesky knat something terribly wrong has happened. Unbeknownst to the neighbor boy at the time she wasn’t just chatting with friends who drove up all of a sudden, no, she was kidnapped. Realizing it too late as a soldiery shoe is left behind in the street and Lori pounding on the windows yelling for help.

Let’s advance some 10 plus years later and Lori is now Summer, her past gone she knows her place and it is as a whore. Kidnapped into child sexual slavery Summer fears for her life. She knows all too well that if she doesn’t do as she is told she will be punished and harshly, very harshly, actually I would say severely. Fearful, scared and yet her will is strong, Summer surprised me because the first few minutes I got to know her I felt she was a little weak. But within a few pages of making that assumption I realized what this woman has gone through all these years and she is actually stronger and more clever than I had given her credit for.

In comes RJ, saving her captor, Anthony’s life, thus winning Summer. Like she is a piece of property to be passed around. But there is something about RJ that makes Summer fall to pieces, melting in his arms. She recognizes his kind heart and his gentleness with her. Not treating her as though she is just a sex toy. He treats her like a woman who has desires, emotions and passion. Not to mention he is sexy as sin.

Their bond is formed, but RJ has his own agenda, which Summer doesn’t find out until it is almost too late that it involves her, it has always been about her. He sets out on trying to free her from her maniacal capture Anthony, what he doesn’t know is why Summer wants to desperately to stay until the bastard reign. He has a hold on her that you can’t imagine and her story will break your heart into a million little pieces.

RJ and Summer blew me away, from their first encounter to their final moments together they were simply on fire. A complicated story, a touching story, a sexy and highly erotic story and a sometimes scary, very scary story, the story's concept will draw you in. Human trafficking is very real and very deadly. IN THIS ARMS left me breathless with the intensity of Summer and RJ’s experience through this black hearted world, filled with so much love and heartbreak in this erotically charged book.

From the first pages of  IN THIS ARMS by Tina Donahue I was captivated, more like ensnared, actually commandeering every fiber of my heart and taking it for one heck of a wild ride.

I felt the words on the pages as though I was right there living them out with the characters. I had became so invested in this story at times I couldn’t stop crying and feeling so emotionally attached I knew I had to put it down for a minute and take a breather.

***Tina is going to be on Book Junkie tomorrow and you will have a chance to win 1 book off her back list, come back tomorrow for details***

Owned by one man, loved by another.

Abducted and delivered into sexual slavery, Lori has surrendered her will in order to survive. For more than a decade, she’s been known as Summer, her owner’s possession until he gives her to his newest lieutenant, a mysterious man called RJ.

Commanding and virile, RJ controls without cruelty and possesses without threat, engendering a mixture of safety and passion. In his strong arms, Summer enjoys carnal pleasure she’s never known and tenderness she’s craved. In his heated gaze, she experiences a sense of recognition she doesn’t immediately understand until it proves dangerous in a way she could never have imagined.

Bound by desire, need and their growing love, RJ traverses the shadowy world of human trafficking, risking all for Summer’s freedom. But when he learns she harbors a fateful secret that threatens to tear her from him, they stand to lose everything.

About Me

Brande
I am a working mom with an addiction to coffee, chocolate, and books.. I read an average 3 to 4 books a week to escape reality. I have setup this site to organize my own thoughts and help others when choosing what to read. Since I can be a dimwit at times I decided to keep a record of the books I read. This record turned into reviews so I would remember if I liked the book I forgot I had read. I am not particularily funny and my grammer sucks so please don’t expect much. Basically I don’t know jack about many things, but I do know what I like in a novel and what makes me want to spend my money on an author.
