Going Down by Shelli Stevens

Shelli Stevens has for some time been one of my few GO TO authors. I am feeling I need a little bit of naughty romance with just the perfect amount of spice, drama and deliciously erotic love scenes Shelli's my girl. And she never disappoints, at least as far as I am concerned. The other reason why I love her books, I get so engrossed that I usually finish the same day I start, her character's weed their way into your hearts and your every thought until the last page is consumed with them as though you were living their lives through words, their actions that you can't help but feel emotionally invested in the outcome.

Sooo, when I picked up GOING DOWN, Book one in her new Holding Out for a Hero series it was a no brainer!

The story of Ellie who is on the run to a small coastal town in Oregon, running for her life really and her own sanity. A beautiful woman who got mixed up with the wrong kind of man, someone who beat her, someone who threatened her, now she is running away from having to testify against him in this trail. He is a drug dealer she is a key witness, but after being threatened by him and one of his partner's, who just happens to be a dirty cop, she took off. Leaving her entire life behind for a couple of months while she is on the run herself.

Although Ellie is trying remain on the down low, she gets a visit from the Sheriff of Wyattville, a sexy man but a VERY persistent man. Ellie is scared to death and now the town Sheriff has got his eye on her she doesn't know whether to run fast in the opposite direction or into his arms. She is strong and knows the reality of her situation, but telling Tyson who she is and why she took off from Chicago could really get her killed. Not likely with Tyson, he is a good ole fashioned gentleman, hard working and honest to the bone, but liers he can't take and when he finds out that Ellie is lying to him, despite his passion and attraction for the woman he has gotten to know the past few days, he isn't sure he can trust her.

Ellie on the other hand is falling for Tyson, their desire for each other really lights the pages on fire, but knowing that she has to stand up in court and testify scares her to death. She doesn't want to lie to Tyson or anyone else, but what is a girl to do. He is a cop and from her experience they have all been dirty. Against her better judgement she lets Tyson in her heart and the rest is history. Also a nice treat is Shelli gives readers just enough of Todd and Trevor, the other two Wyat bros, just enough to tease the pallet and leave you wanting more of these two sexy bachelors! I can't wait to read their stories!

Holding Out for a Hero, Book 1
Eleanor Owen needs to get out of Chicago and quick. It’s not that she doesn’t want to obey the subpoena to testify against her drug-trafficking ex-boyfriend. It’s making it to the witness stand alive, should a dirty cop make good on his threats.
Tiny, remote Wyattsville, Oregon looks like the perfect place to disappear, but it’s hard to blend into the woodwork when one of the town’s infamous namesakes sends her heart racing. Worse, Mr. Tall, Hot and Packing is the town sheriff, which means she should stay as far away from him as possible.
Tyson Wyatt is positive the sexy new girl in town is hiding something. Question is, what? He vows to feel out her secrets—including what she feels like beneath him. Preferably naked. Until then, he’s not buying the story she’s selling.
Their chemistry is sheet-melting hot, and Ellie realizes much too late that the man with the badge is as dangerous to her heart as her ex is to her life…

About Me

My Photo
Brande
I am a working mom with an addiction to coffee, chocolate, and books.. I read an average 3 to 4 books a week to escape reality. I have setup this site to organize my own thoughts and help others when choosing what to read. Since I can be a dimwit at times I decided to keep a record of the books I read. This record turned into reviews so I would remember if I liked the book I forgot I had read. I am not particularily funny and my grammer sucks so please don’t expect much. Basically I don’t know jack about many things, but I do know what I like in a novel and what makes me want to spend my money on an author.
