30 (ARC) Book Charity Giveaway!!!!!

I have decided that instead of a regular contest I am going to have a Charity Auction for my son's cause. Every September we join in the Boston PKD walk. This is to help fight PKD and help raise money to find a cure for the disease. PKD is Polycystic Kidney Disease. My son has ARPKD (Autosomal recessive, is a relatively rare genetic disorder), which means that my husband and I (unbeknownst to use at the time), both happen to carry the gene. The odds are rare that we would marry and have children, but knowing what we do know with the complications of his birth and treatment since we have had the opportunity to learn about a disease we had no idea even existed.

There is currently NO treatment and NO cure for PKD, but there are more researchers, clinical trials and people pulling together to fight this disease than ever before. There is hope – hope for a treatment, hope for a cure, hope for a long and happy life despite PKD.

You can read a little about the disease here. Learn more about ARPKD.

I filled out form and donated. I also tweeted your RT to make more people aware of this cause.

I put Team Porter as the name I donated under. Hope this is correct.

Good luck and hope you have many, many people donating.

Hi Bookie, Pls excuse an old lady for her stupidity. I have been waiting on an email re: the donation for Team Porter. My linksy or whatever? is not working properly so my lap top is not being used. Instead I have my pc which is 6 yrs old and slower than molasses in Dec.
Any way. I decided to ck today to see what the problem was and when I re-read you info saw a link to the donate button. I have now made my donation to Team Porter and so sorry for the stupid error.

I will be pulling for Team Porter..

About Me

My Photo
Brande
I am a working mom with an addiction to coffee, chocolate, and books.. I read an average 3 to 4 books a week to escape reality. I have setup this site to organize my own thoughts and help others when choosing what to read. Since I can be a dimwit at times I decided to keep a record of the books I read. This record turned into reviews so I would remember if I liked the book I forgot I had read. I am not particularily funny and my grammer sucks so please don’t expect much. Basically I don’t know jack about many things, but I do know what I like in a novel and what makes me want to spend my money on an author.
