Tough to Tame by Diana Palmer

It is hard when you love an author and you read their book and are disappointed. Tough to Tame has just come out, DP's latest release in her Long, Tall Texans Story, this is the story of Cappie and Jacobsville's one and only vet, the woman hater Bentley. Cappie is a sweet girl who is taking care of her invalid brother who is recovering from shrapnel in his back which has since paralyzed him. Now this is your classic angry older man, young woman, he treats her like crap for a while, falls in love with her, then messes it up and messes it up. Which I admit I love, Diana does it so well.

Cappie breaks into his heart and Bentley finally allows a woman in his life, the two have some very funny moments, which I think was really the only this books saving grace.

Cappie's life has been hard, no insurance for her brother, they have all but liquidated their savings in just trying to survive.

In comes Cappie's ex- boyfriend has just gotten out of jail and is gunning for her, stopping at nothing, even beating a wheel-chair bound Kell (Cappie’s Brother), as well as Cappie. With the help of some familiar character’s coming back, once again I must say the comedy that is supplied in this book is it’s only saving grace, especially between Cappie, her two bodyguards‘! I have to say I laughed out loud! I have to be honest, the only reason I have this book 3 stars was the humor, the story could have been so much better. The heat factor was all but non-exsistant. Otherwise I would have to say 2/5! Yikes, that was actually painful!

New York Times bestselling author Diana Palmer welcomes you back to Jacobsville to become reacquainted with Bentley Rydel. He lives hard and loves fiercely—but sometimes it takes the right woman to make a man a hero. This rugged Texan is going to be Tough to Tame!

When I first started reading romance books I fell in love with Diana Palmer's books. But over the last few years I quit reading her books because they are all the same the hero is mean to the heroine until the very last couple of chapters then he tells her he loves her and all is forgiven. It seems to me that all of her books are the same anymore just different names to the people and sometimes different places.

I haven't read Diana Palmer's books for a while! I do like a story with some humor and I have been hooked on cowboys lately!

If I didn't love Diana Palmer as much as I do I would cry! For me even the humor between Chet and Rourke in this book seemed immature! I agree her last few books have been same thing, different name type stories! I've also noticed that her leading men have gotten meaner too! Bentley was way too quick to pass judgement on Cappie after speaking to her ex boyfriend 1 time!!

That being said I will continue to buy and support her because I do love her and she was one of the very first romance authors I discovered when I started reading romance!

I have read Diana Palmer and put her on the shelf of our library because she is so popular. However, I've never been a big fan. Her stories are OK but not great; and there is so much more out there. There is enough meanness in the world, I don't need it in the heroes of the books I'm reading. Clueless is one thing, being intentionally mean another.

About Me

My Photo
Brande
I am a working mom with an addiction to coffee, chocolate, and books.. I read an average 3 to 4 books a week to escape reality. I have setup this site to organize my own thoughts and help others when choosing what to read. Since I can be a dimwit at times I decided to keep a record of the books I read. This record turned into reviews so I would remember if I liked the book I forgot I had read. I am not particularily funny and my grammer sucks so please don’t expect much. Basically I don’t know jack about many things, but I do know what I like in a novel and what makes me want to spend my money on an author.
