Review: Sweet Inspiration by Penny Watson

It's Christmas in April, at least for me it is, I just finished Sweet Inspiration by Penny Watson! I have to admit, I kind of like reading Christmas theme books throughout the year. Frankly because there are so many during the holiday that I just can't keep up. Santa has 5 sons, and the eldest Nicholas, a master pastry chef is on the prowl, not for a woman, but for a masterful cookie. The chef who created that cookie is the sweet owner of a pastry shop, Lucy...... I loved her, smart, sassy and sweet as her cookies, I wanted to be her best friend. She was the perfect match for the surly, egotistical Nicholas (rightly so, he's damn good at what he does). Much to the dismay of his father, good ole Santa, see, Nicholas is suppose to take over for his father eventually and will have to stop his "hobby". A whimsical story with an entertaining plot and addictive characters with words flowing from the pages in a way that entices any reader. Nicholas has made a huge sacrifice to keep Lucy in his life, but what I found humorous and lovely was the way Lucy accepted Nicholas' life, now it is up to hear to see if it too can be the life for her.

The banter and individual personalities of all of the brothers came out and each shined for me, giving the reader insight and sparked my imagination on what kind of woman it would take to tame each of them. I can't wait to read what Penny has planned for them all. Penny Watson is working on Oskar's story, called Sweet Magik I simply can not wait!!!

What if the legend of Santa Claus is in fact, true? What if Santa has five big strapping sons who help him run his empire? Five single, sexy sons looking for romance...
Nicholas Klaus is a master pastry chef, a strict disciplinarian, and the eldest son of the legendary Santa Claus. One look at cafe owner Lucy Brewster sends him into an unexpected tailspin of lusty desires. When Lucy is injured, Nicholas makes a decision that catapults their lives into turmoil...
Lucy Brewster, the free-spirited proprietor of Sweet Inspiration, has a flair for concocting sugary confections but no time for adventure. She gets more than she bargained for when she awakens in the North Pole...rambunctious elves, a fitness-obsessed Santa, and the man of her dreams. Does she have what it takes to become the next Mrs. Klaus?

This sounds very cute! Thanks for the review!

(and yes, the idea that Santa may have strapping sons is not bad at all!)

I remember seeing this at Christmas. It sounds like a lot of fun. I don't care for just straight relationship romances, but this has enough else going on to make it interesting. I'll be looking for it.

Brande
I am a working mom with an addiction to coffee, chocolate, and books.. I read an average 3 to 4 books a week to escape reality. I have setup this site to organize my own thoughts and help others when choosing what to read. Since I can be a dimwit at times I decided to keep a record of the books I read. This record turned into reviews so I would remember if I liked the book I forgot I had read. I am not particularily funny and my grammer sucks so please don’t expect much. Basically I don’t know jack about many things, but I do know what I like in a novel and what makes me want to spend my money on an author.
