Lions Heat by Lora Leigh is book 20!!!! In her much praised (rightfully so) and much loved Breed's series. I was literally in a frenzy Tuesday to get this book and I read it in one night, I just couldn't stand it, I had to know Jonas' story. He has been my favorite for a long long time, I couldn't help but think "your gonna get yours buddy" as he made his appearance throughout the series. LL DID NOT disappoint. But with that I must say that I wanted to wring the neck a few times of Rachel his mate. The woman simply took too damn long to let Jonas claim her, especially after being witness to what holding back the mating claim as Jonas was doing out of respect for her. Not that it wasn't bloody brilliant when it FINALLY did happen. LL has a way of sucking you in and not letting go. So we move on with the Breeds fighting for their rights and their lives. There were some interesting little teasers like what is going on with Merinus and Callan's son, Ely's mate (I am secretly hoping it is Dane myself) and the issue of their purr (I can't tell you who's purr in particular that would be too much of a spoiler). So once again I will be waiting for book 21 in the series, who knows when it is coming out, but I tell you what, I will be the same dork I was this last Tuesday and waiting until 12:01 release day to download the e-book. What can I say, I can't help myself.
Bad boy Jonas Wyatt knows it is fate that Rachel becomes his mate. He can sense it. He can also sense her reluctance. But she has little power over the mating heat of the Breeds. It is Jonas's destiny to claim her. And nothing will stop him from having his way.

April 10, 2010 4:42 AMI haven't read much in the paranormal field. Have not read any of the books in this series, but did read a novella in an anthology this past Christmas. I really liked it. Actually was the only story I read twice. I did not realize there were 20 books in the series. That is just too discouraging. My TBR mountain is too high already. Having said that, I will pick them up if I see them and stash them away for a marathon All Breeds reading session.

The book was ok. I didn't think it was great. I've left longer reviews so I won't re-hash but your review made me realize I missed something. I don't think Rachel was selfish at all. She didn't love him and it was smart to just wait to figure out what she wanted. I actually thought it was brillant that Jonas was the one suffering to make up for all of the suffering he caused others with his manipulations.
