Review: Her Vampire Husband by Michele Hauf

Vamps, can't get enough, but what about Vamps and Weres'? Well, I personally think that it is a deliciously sinful combination, or at least it can be if done right. And author Michele Hauf has done it right! Here lastest release, (April 10,2010 from HQN), is Her Vampire Husband and boy does it sizzle!
A new to me author I have to say 1 I was attracted by the cover, then two by the blurb, I am a fan of Underworld and the whole Vamp/Were romance so I took a chance. Very happy I did!

This is the story of Blu and Creed, Blu is a Werewolf princess, one that is highly regarded as female Weres’ are a precious commodity and very very rare. So with that being said, her father has decided to arrange a marriage in good faith between the species to Creed, a very powerful Vamp who just happens to be a Tribe Leader. Blu’s father is a seriously malicious Were who has more than the best interest of his daughter in mind, he could really care less for Blu and how she feels. I mean, married to your enemy! She can barely stand the idea, but this goes in line with all the other careless and abusive acts her father has bestowed upon her.

Creed on the other hand is looking forward to this chance, not because of love, oh no, Creed has a mater plan, a hidden agenda in the works. That is until he falls in love with Blu. There is a war going on between the species and he will do everything in his power not to see the Vamps fail.

What takes him for a loop is Blu herself, the girl is just out there! Wigs, flamboyant clothes, over the top is what she is and her own individual personality just shines. She is just plum crazy, but under all the outer craziness there is a woman who is seriously hurting and vulnerable. Her sassiness and sharp wit keep this book entertaining; she is one of a kind. But you realize as you go on that this is all an amour, she has had to shield herself against her father and his abuse for years with no mother to rely on, no support what so ever. Now there is just Creed, and despite his demands she refuses to let him bit her! Creed is a strong warrior, total Alpha male and spitting fire; the sexy vamp can’t help but reluctantly fall for the beautiful Were Princess.

Fun, sensual and utterly entertaining I couldn’t put this book down. The fight scenes were fantastic, the love that develops between Blu and Creed was believable and passionate! And I loved the inner struggle that both characters had to deal with, love or duty?

An arranged marriage between a werewolf and a vampire.
There will be blood.
She may resist his bite, but she can't resist his charms...
Werewolf princess Blu Masterson won't allow her seductive vampire husband to consummate their marriage with his bite, marking her forever. Alone in a secluded estate with her sworn enemy, Blu curses the marriage arranged to bring their rival nations together, especially since Creed Saint-Pierre calls out to her most feral desires.
When Blu uncovers her pack's secret plot to destroy the vampire nation—and Creed—she is forced to confront her growing feelings for her sexy undead husband. Will she choose the only life she's ever known or accept his vampire bite?

Read a companion story to HER VAMPIRE HUSBAND. In March 'Vampire's Tango' is released at eHarlequin.com. It features Alexandre Renard, a secondary character from HVH. It can be read before or after reading HVH—it stands alone.

About Me

Brande
I am a working mom with an addiction to coffee, chocolate, and books.. I read an average 3 to 4 books a week to escape reality. I have setup this site to organize my own thoughts and help others when choosing what to read. Since I can be a dimwit at times I decided to keep a record of the books I read. This record turned into reviews so I would remember if I liked the book I forgot I had read. I am not particularily funny and my grammer sucks so please don’t expect much. Basically I don’t know jack about many things, but I do know what I like in a novel and what makes me want to spend my money on an author.
