Review & Guest Post: Love in Mid Air by Kim Write

Today I am excited to have author Kim Write here at Book Junkie. She is celebrating her release LOVE in MID AIR !
What a great read! This is the story of Elyse, she is 40 and in a marriage she has realized for some time was a huge mistake. Thing is that she feels trapped, and she has a 7 year old little girl to worry about as well. Tory is a doll, precocious, but she is 7 after all. But after 9 years of marriage and a chance encounter on a plane with a sexy and exciting new man she is contemplating having an affair.

Elyse is lonely, her husband Phil is a nice guy but there is zero chemistry and the two are just going through the motions of life everyday with each other. Phil is a good man and they even try counseling, Elyse is under no illusions that her affair with Gerry, who is married himself, will go anywhere. The two are gaining from each other what they can not get from their spouses. An interesting struggle internally for Elyse, she feels a since of obligation to her marriage, not just to Phil and her daughter. Believing that marriage is for life, there are no second chances so she better enjoy Gerry while she can. One of the reason's I connected with this book, not that I condone affairs, but Elyse is real. At least she felt like that, she could have been one of my girlfriends going through a tough marriage, her emotions and struggles with Phil and herself were feelings that many woman feel themselves and it touched my heart as though I was watching a movie of Elyse's life playing out before my eyes.

A chance encounter with a stranger on an airplane sends Elyse Bearden into an emotional tailspin. Suddenly Elyse is willing to risk everything: her safe but stale marriage, her seemingly perfect life in an affluent Southern suburb, and her position in the community. She finds herself cutting through all the instincts that say "no" and instead lets "yes" happen. As Elyse embarks on a risky affair, her longtime friend Kelly and the other women in their book club begin to question their own decisions about love, sex, marriage, and freedom. There are consequences for Elyse, her family, and her circle of close friends, all of whom have an investment in her life continuing as normal. But is normal what she really wants after all? In the end it will take an extraordinary leap of faith for Elyse to find--and follow--her own path to happiness.
An intelligent, sexy, absorbing tale and an honest look at modern-day marriage, Love in Mid Air offers the experience of what it's like to change the course of one's own destiny when finding oneself caught in mid air.

Hi Kris,

I know, wasn't it great. I have to say it was like sitting with a girlfriend and watching her story unfold. I think that is why I had such an easy time connecting to the book. It was hard not to give away the ending, but I think that anyone who picks it up is going to love it!!!!

oxoxoxo,

I am a working mom with an addiction to coffee, chocolate, and books.. I read an average 3 to 4 books a week to escape reality. I have setup this site to organize my own thoughts and help others when choosing what to read. Since I can be a dimwit at times I decided to keep a record of the books I read. This record turned into reviews so I would remember if I liked the book I forgot I had read. I am not particularily funny and my grammer sucks so please don’t expect much. Basically I don’t know jack about many things, but I do know what I like in a novel and what makes me want to spend my money on an author.
