Review & Giveaway: Forbidden Passion by Rita Herron

I knew when I read the prologue for Forbidden Passion by Rita Herron I was going to be hooked. Actually, what is not to like about a paranormal romance of two lost souls to met twenty years prior, Dante saved little Marlena's life of fateful day when she was suppose to be his first human kill. That day Dante left his demon world knowing that he didn't want to be evil any longer.
Eventually he became a sheriff, in the same small town that Marlena has come back home to after many many years away. Still haunted by the murders of her mother and sister, knowing something evil killed them that night, a monster of a little girls nightmares. She has dedicated her life to studying human genetics and on a mission to discover what makes someone evil.
What she doesn't expect is to be attracted to the sexy sheriff, Dante. What I think attracted me first to Dante was his shift all those years ago from evil to good, you knew when he saved Marlena that his inner soul was good. He also knew exactly who and what he was, as much as he hated it to the core he knew that to save Marlena in the end from a seriously creepy serial killer he was going to have to draw out his own demon. I don't know what to say, but what a guy!
And Marlena, I truly liked her as well, strong, but could be weak at time. She was no wimp, but the poor girl was getting "gifts" left at her door from the victims of the serial killer. I mean, that could mess anyone up mentally. But I have to say I admired her strength of character not to fall to complete and utter pieces, I would have been running for the hills. The ghoolish factor is definitely present and it will creep you out as much as intrigue you so much you can't stop turning the pages. A true winner for me!
