Review: Cassie's Awakening by Brigit Aine

In Cassie's Awakening by Brigit Aine, I must admit, I was about a page into this book and I knew I was going to love it. Jared was your gotta love'em typical bachelor, shifter wolf.... totally alpha and totally all ego. What's not to love, he didn't want to fall in love with Cassie, but the moment he meets her he knows.... mate! Ugh, and it really gets his goat because the man isn't ready for the responsibility of having a mate. Not that he isn't attracted to Cassie, but mate means forever! Taking a deep breath and some time to work things out in his head he realized how sweet Cassie is, how sexy Cassie is and how being HER mate might not be so bad after all.


Now Cassie hasn't a clue that Jared is a shifter, all she knows is that there is something about the sexy deputy that she can't hold back, what is wrong with her! It was actually funny and sweet watching the two come together, Jared now eager to make her accept him and being his mate can't get enough and Cassie well after a horrible marriage to a selfish jerk she can't help but be open to the idea of having some fun with Jared.

Little does she know that he is a wolf shifter, everyone in town has special "talents", and Cassie has never been able to meet a man who could excite her, but Jared seems to be immune to her, which only makes things hotter and more passionate then ever. But accepting Jared for who he really is just might undo her.

These two were on fire from page 1, hot love scenes, witty and clever dialog between all the cast of characters, I could help but want more.

He obviously doesn’t want her…so how can she be his mate?

Cassie’s talent is dampening the emotions of others. This has been a very useful way of keeping peace around her, but has proven harmful in learning about passion and love. After all, none of the men she has ever dated have been able to profess or show the true depth of their feelings.
