Appreciate Your Loved Ones with Simple Gestures

You probably have heard someone say that it is the simple gestures or little things that matter in life. That is true when you are talking about showing appreciation for those you love. When you learn to show your appreciation for those you love, you will have better relationships with them and communicate better.

The big gestures are sometimes appropriate as well but you can easily incorporate simple gestures into your life on a daily basis. You have to share the appreciation and love you have for others instead of hiding it. When you share your appreciation, you are going to make others very happy.

Simple Gestures You Can Use to Show Your Appreciation

1. Talk to the people you care about. Tell people what you are thinking and how you feel. This can apply at work and at home with your family. Sharing your positive thoughts with others is going to bring joy to the people around you. Share the compliments you think of that you might otherwise keep inside. How easy is that?

2. Send a card for no reason. When you see a card that is perfect for someone you care about, send it even if it there is no occasion or reason at all. There is nothing better than receiving a card showing appreciation to make people feel good.

3. Do more than you need to. Every day, try to do something extra special for those you care about that you would not normally do. The littlest things can make a big difference for your loved ones. An example is something as simple as unloading the dishwasher so your spouse doesn't have to.

4. Practice your listening! You have to work hard to train yourself to really listen to what people are telling you. That way you can really remember what they say. When you listen and remember what people tell you, you are going to make them feel special and tell them you care about them.

5. Be affectionate. Showing the ones you love that you care requires you to show them some affection. Hug and kiss your loved ones and tell them you love them on a regular basis and you will make them very happy.

6. Make them a gift. Gifts are a great way to show your appreciation but a handmade gift is even better than something from a store because it comes from your heart. A handmade gift is something your loved ones will cherish.

7. Show your love through food. When you make a special meal for the ones you love, you are showing them you appreciate them. It can be a new recipe or a recipe they love. You can show your appreciation for your coworkers by bringing some cookies or brownies to work that you made just for them.

8. Say "Thank You". We all know that "please" and "thank you" are important words to use with strangers but we don't always remember to use them with our loved ones. It is easy to show appreciation with simple gestures like thanking the people you care about for the big and small things they do on a daily basis.

Make Gratitude Part of Your Daily Life

When you focus on making gratitude for others part of your daily life, you are going to find the simple gestures easier and easier to do. Focusing on what your loved ones need helps you remember the importance of simple gestures of gratitude. Making others happy makes you happy as well and people will remember you for your simple gestures.

About Me

My Photo
Brande
I am a working mom with an addiction to coffee, chocolate, and books.. I read an average 3 to 4 books a week to escape reality. I have setup this site to organize my own thoughts and help others when choosing what to read. Since I can be a dimwit at times I decided to keep a record of the books I read. This record turned into reviews so I would remember if I liked the book I forgot I had read. I am not particularily funny and my grammer sucks so please don’t expect much. Basically I don’t know jack about many things, but I do know what I like in a novel and what makes me want to spend my money on an author.
