Dark of Night - Suzanne Brockmann

I am such a fan of Suzanne Brockmann and I couldn't wait until this Troubleshooters book 14 came out. I had to get the e-book and read it at work since I couldn't wait until I got home to download. I have to say that I love, love, love Dave Malcolff. He guy is just adorable so utterly and pitifully in love with Sophia. One think I like about SB is that she ties in so many other characters in each chapter bit by bit that it helps the story flow. Nothing is worse then finishing two chapters, going off to another arch and then back again. I get too lost. There are so many fantastic personalities and so much going on that my head spins in a good way trying to read faster just to soak up all the drama.
Ok, so first off so many fan I know were wished for Decker and Sophia to hook up. You could just tell from all of Brockmann's books that there was too much damage there for that. Too much history and guilt and way too much room for Dave and Sophie and since Into the Fire, Deck and Tracy. Although I do have to admit I didn't see the set up until the phone convo between the two at the end. Then my blood was boiling with excitement at the prospect.
I do like how SB hooked up Sophie and Dave, but all in all they did have thier own emotional issues to deal with, Dave's constant reminder that Soph wanted Decker and he is only 2nd best. Poor guy, he took it and ran with it knowing that he would always be 2nd best in her eyes. He loved her that much. But push come to shove Sophie fell in love with him. And who couldn't, Dave is a doll and her own James Bond. I have to admit that I fell apart when I read the letter he left for Decker and Sophie, it broke my heart.
As for Tracy and Decker I like that SB didn't make her a complete idiot but in fact she was a pretty smart cookie. Even if she wan't an agent the girl had moxie and brains. Who cares if she is just a receptionist, doesn't mean she is a dope too! I adore how she broke him so to speak. With every comment, every question she wedged her way into his heart and into his concious. And I adore how Decker discribed her to Jimmy at the end. He is most definitly his shinning light.
Also Sam, still one of my favs, plus it was so good to see Robin and Jules as well. This book I have to say was one of the best ones. It had the romanace, the drama and just enough mystery to keep me turning the pages.

Wild by Lori Foster

This bad boy is the last in the series of the Winston Brothers. It is all about Zane and I have to say my favorite!! I read this one in one day I just couldn't stop. He is afraid of the "Winston Curse" but then he is propositioned by Tamera who poses as a gypsy for the sake of her store and her family. "I want you", that is what she says to him in the middle of a busy day at his computer store. He is stunned and pretty much rejects her. Well, if all of couple hours until he closes up that night. She has gotten under his skin and now he can't stop thinking about her. He notices that she has put her story up for sale and is determined not to let her get the upper hand. Really he just wants the little gypsy.
Throw in his nosey but lovable family of brothers and sisters in law, add a little of her wacky two aunts and uncle. This book is full of romance and just juicy enough all the way through to keep you hooked. What I liked about this Winston Brothers story is that there is a bit of a mystery, someone is trying to hurt Tamera. All in all without giving away the story it is a fun book to read. Zane is just alpha enough not be an ass, which is why you fall in love with the guy.

Ok, let's start by WOW! This was my first book of Lori Foster's and I feel in love with her on the spot. This book combines the stories of three of the four Winston brothers of Thomasvillle KY

The series starts with the oldest Winston brother, Cole who owns and runs the Winston Tavern and is hooked on the little Sophie the boutque owner across the way so for months has been finding her way into the Tavern to catch a glypse at Cole and have some hot chocolate. She is sky and doesn't realize that Cole is attracted to her as well. So she comes up with this plot to fool him that she has a sassy twin sister and hits on him. Little does she know that he figures it out.

Chase is my fav in this series. He is known as the quite one and one night Alison comes into the the bar and for some reason he can hear all her erotic and sexy thoughts. The thing is, is that they are ALL about him. It drives him nuts to much that he approaches her which startles her a bit. Then that night he stops by her house because he needs to see her. Little does he know that he lives in a haunted house of sorts. Ok so I admit the story for Chase where the ghoast are concerned kind of was a downer. But I still loved the actual relationship that Chase and Alison built.

Mack is the last Winston here. He was swindled into a underware photo shoot for his sister in law's store. But when he gets there he realized that the photographer is the Jessica, a woman he has had a huge crush on since they took some classes together a few years ago. He has a daughter. He is much younger but he works her down by suducing her during his photo scessions. It's cute, but not my favorite brother but there are some hot scenes while Mack is trying to work on Jessica and get her to give into him.

The Sheik & the Pregnant Bride by Susan Mallery

I have to admit this was my very first introduction into the Romance genre and it got me addicted about two years ago. Susan Mallery is a fantastic writer and I love, well, most of her books. But this one hold some sentimental value of course. Well, hell it is just a cute story. And frankly it keeps going until the end. Enough to hook me in and I for one drop a book after one chapter if I can't get into it.
This is the story of Maggie Collins is a tom boy mechanic had been not had the best of luck in love with a failed realationship in the recent past, she takes off to restore Prince Qadir's antique car, he who has an exotic kingdom called El Deharia . But then Qadir made her an offer she should have refused.

It was meant to be a temporary engagement between the two until Maggie discovered she was pregnant by a past lover. Now Qadir was honor-bound to give Maggie and her child the protection of his name. But they fall in love. La la la, of course it is sappy and there is a happy ending. But I have to tell you that it is filled with great humor

About Me

My Photo
Brande
I am a working mom with an addiction to coffee, chocolate, and books.. I read an average 3 to 4 books a week to escape reality. I have setup this site to organize my own thoughts and help others when choosing what to read. Since I can be a dimwit at times I decided to keep a record of the books I read. This record turned into reviews so I would remember if I liked the book I forgot I had read. I am not particularily funny and my grammer sucks so please don’t expect much. Basically I don’t know jack about many things, but I do know what I like in a novel and what makes me want to spend my money on an author.
