Review : Tales for Delicious Girls by Barbora Knobova

Have you ever read a book and thought to yourself, "oh girl, I feel your pain"? This is what I kept repeating in my head when I was reading Tales for Delicious Girls by Barbora Knobova. This is a books of "tales" if you will, more like hilarious adventures of the dating life for the single girl. I laughed out loud making my husband constantly ask what the heck was so funny! I couldn't tell the man, he just wouldn't understand. See, this is a memoir of sorts, although I use the word very loosely, of the author's misadventures dating. We have felt like we have been wronged, had the date from hell and often wondered what he did wrong in a past life that we ended up in such a deliriously bizarre dating situation. This isn't a how to, this isn't some sort of manual, just real accounts of the author's experience, the good, the bad and the ugly. Just told with the enlightening and seriously funny voice of Barbora Knobova. It is her own personal dating experience and run ins which reminds me that there are many, many fish in the sea and you do end up having to throw a few back (for whatever your reasoning is)! With an cornucopia of short stories Barbora brings you into her world and often times I was happy it was her and not me, the other half I knew exactly where she was coming from having similar experiences. I finished this book in a matter of hours because I just couldn't stop reading chapter after chapter wanted to know where it would take me. You will laugh and you will cry.... well mostly from laughing so hard, leaving you with a smile on your face and a giggle or two for the road!

About Me

I am a working mom with an addiction to coffee, chocolate, and books.. I read an average 3 to 4 books a week to escape reality. I have setup this site to organize my own thoughts and help others when choosing what to read. Since I can be a dimwit at times I decided to keep a record of the books I read. This record turned into reviews so I would remember if I liked the book I forgot I had read. I am not particularily funny and my grammer sucks so please don’t expect much. Basically I don’t know jack about many things, but I do know what I like in a novel and what makes me want to spend my money on an author.
