Review: Forbidden by Karen Erickson

Are you in the mood for a highly erotic tale? Forbidden by Karen Erickson is a tale with a little erotic submission, a little erotic love, throw is some light BDSM, two roommates who have no idea how one feels about the other, and the kind of sex scenes that will light your panties ablaze. Austin and Michaela are roomies and great friends, but as Michaela is straight, Austin has been with both men and women but most recently men, unbeknownst to Michaela. Leading Michaela to believe that he is gay and not bi, the thought never reaching her mind that although she gets all hot and bothered when around him, that Austin too is frustrated sexually. If only she could get him and his sexy self out of her thoughts, her dirty, naughty thoughts. She is a women who is tired of the ordinary man, the "vanilla" lifestyle, feeling guilty and embarrassed of her sexual desires she suppressed them out of fear. Her past lovers have been squares, not wanting to experiment and not accepting the fact that she isn't a freak. Austin on the other hand is well experienced and somewhat of a Dom. He has an alfa male personality with all his lovers, most recently on a dry spell minus is casual encounters with his ex Brad. But their sexual escapades are casual, of almost comfort and convenience. Austin can't take it, he sets out to seduce Michaela and is able to succeed but also scares her in the process. Emotions and hidden attractions will find their way out into the open and he only wants to accelerate the process. Fearful that this is a game or just a mistake Michaela runs from him, emotionally that is, dodging the man for up to a week or two at a time. Working late trying to avoid him and the conversation that she dreads. She can't even think of handling rejection from Austin or the disgust he might have towards her and her aspiration & cravings. But Austin wants nothing but to please her, open up her sexual awareness with boundless enthusiasm. What starts as a friendship has developed into a delicious angst filled journey into the exploration of both Austin and Michaela's sexual desires, opening up a new world for Michaela. Once she is now hard pressed to close the flood gates that have opened. She loved the avenues they have explored and wants more. More with Austin as she is falling in love with him, but she still wants only him and to explore with HIM at her side. This excursion brings on Austin's jealousy, an unfamiliar feeling for him. How can this be! He's not the possessive type, he is the anti relationship poster boy, or so Brad, he is ex keeps reminding him. Brad is able to see what Austin has just realized. He too is in love, but his fear that Michaela is only using him sexually cuts him to the bone. What a fun ride watching the love blossom between Michaela and Austin. Watching Austin, who is a confident man be so unsure, yet so tender and accepting of Michael was just poetry. Forbidden makes for one smokin hot read as you joinery with Michaela while she tries to find out who she is and what it is she wants, quenching her desire with Austin. But will he be enough for her, with Austin jealousy blossoming at the idea of sharing Michaela with another man, emotions are at an all time high. Karen Erickson has captured me with this immensely intriguing story of lovers, misunderstanding, sexual fear and desire, in such a satisfying exploration of the complexities of trust, love, and amorousness passion creating a fan for life!

About Me

Brande
I am a working mom with an addiction to coffee, chocolate, and books.. I read an average 3 to 4 books a week to escape reality. I have setup this site to organize my own thoughts and help others when choosing what to read. Since I can be a dimwit at times I decided to keep a record of the books I read. This record turned into reviews so I would remember if I liked the book I forgot I had read. I am not particularily funny and my grammer sucks so please don’t expect much. Basically I don’t know jack about many things, but I do know what I like in a novel and what makes me want to spend my money on an author.
