In Alisha Rai's latest release Cabin Fever, Genevieve has some special powers, she can read other people's auras and she can heal others. Pretty cool powers right! Well she doesn't think so. The guilt of her mother's death weighs over her and she feels as though she must live the life of solitude for her penance in her cabin in the woods of West Virginia. That is until handsome Alex is found on her porch one night half frozen to death and bleeding very badly. Not to mention he is unconscious. Genevieve brings him into her cabin and into her life, into her dreams. She uses her powers to help heal him as he lays close to death. Something about him, with help of his peaceful and honest aura let her know that he isn't out to harm her. She is mistrusting of the local police because they are responsible for much of her hurt knowing the last police Chief bestowed upon her and her mother. Fearful yes, but she likes that the town all believe her to be a witch, it has saved her life so far and helps them keep their distance.Alex has had enough, he partner was shot and murdered back in NY and he needs some much needed fresh air and to get the heck away from NY, thinking W.VA. will be just the place, a quite little town, how much danger can there really be after all? After being shot on the side of the road, walking in the woods for two hours and half freezing to death. Only to wake up with a beautiful woman laying next to him. With his own demands Alex and Genevieve slowly begin to open up to one another and page by page I loved being on that journey with them. Alex's understanding and accepting heart when it came to Genevieve no matter how hard she fought it. Whether it was her insecurity of her weight or they fact that she wasn't "normal", that she has special powers, Alex loved her regardless. When danger comes back to their door Alex is still too weak to protect her. There is someone who wants to kill them and will stop at nothing to accomplish their task. Held up in the cabin the two learn a little more about trust. Alex trusting in Genevieve that she is capable of handling herself especially with her powers and her feelings. And Genevieve trusting that Alex means what he says, he is an honest and upstanding guy who wants the same things as she does. Thing is Alex is more willing to take the next step with Genevieve even when she fights him tooth and nail all the way. The sex sizzles, the chemistry is on hire and the story line is entertaining! No complaints here, just wanted more, more, more!
