Review: A Hard Man to Love by Kathleen Lawless

"Montana Blackstone has big plans for the deluxe spa resort she's building at Black Creek Ranch. They don't include letting her know-it-all new foreman take the reins, even if tall, broad-shouldered Steele Hardt looks mighty capable of showing her how blissful it can be to surrender control -- in and out of the bedroom. As the sizzling chemistry between them erupts in one mind-blowing encounter after another, Montana finds that Steele has a knack for knocking down her defenses and seeing through to the vulnerable core she's tried so hard to hide.Once a pro poker player, now a renowned business troubleshooter, Steele came to Black Creek to give investors a covert report on the spa's potential -- not to give its gorgeous owner such very personal attention. And once she learns the truth about why he's there, Steele stands to lose Montana forever. Convincing her that the heat between them is more than a diversion means taking the biggest gamble of his life. But Steele has never been known to take the easy way out -- and he's not about to start now. . . ."

REVIEW: This simply is a sensual, sinful and delicious read. It was just plain fun and juicy and for a rainy day it will warm you right up! I have just discovered Kathleen Lawless as I did a search on some hot juicy romances on Paperbackswap.com and I was really surprised how much I like this book right off the bat. I finished it in a day, as it was a fast read with characters that I found fun & I really wanted everything to work out despite the obstacles. I also enjoyed the secondary characters of Helen who is Montana's mother in law and Sloan Hardt, Steele's brother. Montana's husband passed away in an accident and although they were married for 10 years, he was a cheat and never really cared too much about her, but with this marriage Montana acquired Black Creek Ranch which has become her passion. In comes Steele Hardt, the hero of this read is a sexy, highly independent, ex-professional gambler who was hired to by Helen to spice up the ranch a bit. Montana has convinced the investors of the ranch to back her in opening an exclusive spa on site which she is determined will bring in celebrities and high rollers in order to keep her dream alive in making this the best spa around. Right off the bat Steele and Montana hit it off, that is after she fires him two minutes after meeting him. There is a lot if sex, erotic and yet sweet, which of course turns into Steele and Montana falling in love. Just as this happens Montana finds out why Steele is really there and she forces him to leave. Does love prevail? You will have to find out for yourselves. I really enjoyed this book, a quick read and juicy in all the right places. This is actually the first of two books in this series with Wicked Night Games being the story of Hardt brother, Slone. I can't believe I actually started with book #1, I usually jump ahead of myself with the latest and greatest and end up having to back track and play catch-up with all the characters. Happy Reading!!

Brande
I am a working mom with an addiction to coffee, chocolate, and books.. I read an average 3 to 4 books a week to escape reality. I have setup this site to organize my own thoughts and help others when choosing what to read. Since I can be a dimwit at times I decided to keep a record of the books I read. This record turned into reviews so I would remember if I liked the book I forgot I had read. I am not particularily funny and my grammer sucks so please don’t expect much. Basically I don’t know jack about many things, but I do know what I like in a novel and what makes me want to spend my money on an author.
